DRY TORTUGAS National Park is in the Gulf of Mexico, west of Key West, Florida. It has 7 islands, plus protected coral reefs. Garden Key is home to beaches and the 19 century Fort Jefferson. Loggerhead Key has a lighthouse and sea turtles. On nearby Loggerhead Reef, the Windjammer Wreck, the remains of an 1875 ship, is a popular dive site. Bush Key is a nesting site for seabirds like sooty terns.
What to expect: ( 5 – 7 Day Itinerary)
Arrive at Yacht Haven Marina where Captain and mate will greet you and get you settled in. The first night at the dock on the yacht relax, your on your own. Discover Marathon, dozen of restaurants and shopping.
A planned departure time determined by the Captain. Set sail to DRY TORTUGAS, along the way seeing dolphin, sea turtles, this trip will be an overnight sail. We do all the work unless you want to help set sails or steer. If fishing interests you, we will be sailing through some of the best fishing waters in the Florida Straits, depending on weather conditions. Fishing gear is provided.
Arrive in DRY TORTUGAS. Drop anchor in a protected area. Will be free to explore the islands, Fort Jefferson, and snorkeling/diving. (Snorkel gear is provided)
Don’t forget the beautiful sunsets followed by a starry night, that will not be easily forgotten.
Sail to Marquess. Drop anchor and explore the area.
Key West to explore the town or go the reefs to snorkel/dive
Sail to Looe Key Reef for snorkeling/diving.
